I am a Native Houstonian and my Mother, sister and I got our broker's licenses in 1975. At that time, I was one of the youngest women in Texas to have a Broker's license! I represents both buyers and sellers mainly in the North Houston/Conroe/Montgomery area. I specialize in Bentwater Subdivision but am very familiar with the Lake Conroe area as well as The Woodlands. However, being a Native Houtonian, I can help out in most areas.
I am a Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS). This designation puts me in touch with 1,000's of other agents across the country that also specialize in homes priced above $500,000. We have an extensive email list to share our listings.
In 2014 my business warranted bringing on a partner, so my husband Steve became a licensed agent and we are now The Watkins Team. Not only is Steve my best friend and husband, we are now working partners! I absolutely love real estate. It's not about the transaction (aka paycheck), but about building the relationship.
I worked in the construction business for over 14 years, primarily in cabinetmaking but also remodeling and maintenance before joining Gaye in 2014. I bring my construction experience to the team by helping sellers know what to repair/replace prior to selling, helping buyers to know what repairs are important and which aren't. Also, I am the team photographer.
One of my major joys of the real estate profession is the opportunity to help people realize their dreams either by helping them buy or sell their home. We seek to make the whole process as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. If that means doing minor repairs, pet sitting or supplying moving boxes, then we do that.
Pierce Futch is a rare find: a Conroe native! As a young man, Pierce was an active contributor in the start-up of both the modern day Lake Conroe community and The Woodlands. His wealth of knowledge and local history is second to none and only acts to reinforce his incredible depth of real estate expertise. He has an extensive background in both residential and commercial construction across the state of Texas and provides clients with invaluable wisdom and guidance in real estate transactions.
Having “seen it all" Pierce is one of the few Realtors that can truly navigate clients through the trickiest real estate transactions. Famous for his relaxed style, Pierce makes real estate look easy and provides his clients with a great deal of comfort and confidence throughout the buying and selling process. When he's not showing houses or working with his Sellers, Pierce is active as a teacher of the Adult Bible Study at Lake Conroe's non-denominational Church on the North Shore.
Other than Real Estate
While we love real estate there are many other things that we are involved in. So we thought we'd share some of those so you could get to know us a little better. Some of these activities you may want to participate in. If so, please let us know, we can help you get involved.
Dominican Republic Missions
The House of Light is an orphanage for severely handicapped children. In some cases, parents drive to the orphanage and drop off their handicapped children and just drive off, never to return. In other cases a child is found in a dumpster and the House of Light is called to pick the child up. With minimal help from the government and the majority of the funds coming from churches around the world, the House of Light now takes care of nearly 40 children, ages 1 to 18, for just under $90,000 per YEAR! We have had the opportunity to go there a few times to do things like: painting, plumbing repairs, electrical repairs and appliance installation.
In the Dominican Republic, children with any significant handicap like hearing impairment, are not allowed to attend regular school. As a result, many handicapped children never go to school. CAES provides school for these children along with the opportunity to get a pair of donated hearing aids fitted to them. The school currently has grades 1-6 serving about 75 students, but is hoping to have education through high school and even trade school. Here our team has installed plumbing, installed playground equipment and distributed school supplies donated by some great people in the greater Houston area.
The Under/Over Fellowship is a mission to the homeless in downtown Conroe. They are located at 106 S. San Jacinto Ave. in Conroe, TX. Here they have a facility for group meeting, kitchen for meal preparation, dormitories of a few men and a house across the street for women in crisis. They provide opportunities for work through their wood shop, holding on-site flea markets selling donated items, and various odd jobs. Their philosophy is, if you need something, you need to work for it. They also preach an unequivocal Gospel. We have, through our church, North Shore Church in Montgomery, been able to serve meals, remodel bathrooms and donate clothes etc.
Other Fun Things
We do occasionally (or more!) participate in some other fun activities. 10 years ago, Gaye stood up at the luncheon for the Bentwater Ladies Organization (BLO) and asked if possibly, just maybe, someone in the group would like to join a wine tasting group. That day 40 ladies (80 people) signed up! 10 Years later there are almost 500 people participating in over 25 groups. Meeting bi-monthly, each group blind-tastes various wines and picks a winner. At the end of the year gala, each winning wine is served. You DON'T have to be a Bentwater resident to participate!
